TEMAB Fjärrvärme AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of TierpsEnergi & Miljö AB, and since 2016 has been tasked with being responsible for water and sewage, cleaning, street and park as well as district heating in Tierps municipality. With great drive, inspiration and pride, they take on the future and continue to drive sustainability work in the municipality.
We had the pleasure of asking some questions to TEMAB's Tomas Henriksson, Operations Manager:
We see advantages/strengths with all of Utilifeed's tools, but have chosen to start with the basic package "Insight" as well as the premium services "Price model analysis", "Automatic Fault detection" and "Load forecast".
An important part of our choice of Utilifeed is that we have challenges with high return temperatures in our network and thus have a need to work with customers with high return temperatures. For this, easily accessible and clear information is required, which we can obtain with the help of Utilifeed's tools.
Another important part is the price model analysis tool. On the one hand, we need to develop a new price model, but we also want a powerful tool to more easily and clearly communicate prices/costs with our customers as we intend to join the Prisdialogen.
As far as automatic Fault detection is concerned, we see it as a plus in terms of customer care.
We were interested in the premium service "Production optimization" but chose to start only with "Load forecast" as we feel that we need to learn and get into the tool properly before we can use all the functions. We have solid fuel boilers (wood shavings) as a base and supplement with pellet boilers if necessary. But we are often faced with the choice of letting oil handle shorter periods of higher power demand as it is more work to start a pellet boiler and it needs to go on for a while.
Today, we have blunt and very traditional methods for making qualified guesses about the customers' power and energy needs based on the weather, and then we have to hope that the outcome does not differ too much. Here we will have good help from Utilifeed's tools to be able to make financial choices that are based more on facts than just our qualified guesses.
We currently have no tools to help us, other than meter data from our supplier. Utilifeed's tool will help us analyze our meter data more easily and quickly. In addition, we are a small company that until now has always purchased services in terms of, for example, load analyzes or analysis of price models.
We find that Utilifeed's tool is simple enough that even our small organization can take advantage of it, while being powerful enough for us to analyze the majority of our needs ourselves without external help.
